FOXNews.com - Top Official Says Feds May Not Process Illegals Referred From Arizona

These folks need to read the Arizona law, its only 12 or so pages and there is nothing wrong with it. If it’s racial profiling so is the seatbelt law. Maybe the problem is that it doesn’t have 2000 pages and 500 weasel words in it, I think that’s it, it’s to simple.

Principle suspends student for wearing rosary beads.

HAVERSTRAW (WABC) -- The parents of a high school student from Rockland County are demanding answers after their ninth grader was suspended for wearing rosary beads to school.
He was suspended even though the school doesn't even have a policy banning them. So did the principal go too far? Jason Laguna is a former altar boy and proud Catholic. He got his rosary beads as a gift, thinks they look cool and sometimes wears them under his shirt at school. But last Friday, right before dismissal, he pulled them out on his way out. He was given a one-day suspension from Fieldstone Secondary School. His mother calls the punishment extreme, considering the 14-year-old is a member of student government and, according to his last report card, "is a pleasure to have in class." Laguna says she was told the school has an unwritten policy regarding beads because they could be used to show gang affiliation. The principal claims it was insubordination, saying Laguna's actions, "endangered the safety, health, morals or welfare of himself or others." Jason was supposed to stay home Friday, but late Thursday the district superintendent put that on hold pending further investigation. It may not be divine intervention, but his mother has contacted the American Civil Liberties Union as she continues to fight the suspension.

Let me stae this, I’m not now, nor have I ever been a supporter of the ACLU, that being said let’s see if they stand up for someone who deserves their protection. I doubt they will, considering, they are the reason we have no prayer in school, waste of time and money lawsuits against Christmas and God the list goes on and on and on and on. The ACLU is the right hand of liberal left they believe that the few control the majority. To Be Continued.

Connecticut Attorney General Blumenthal and Vietnam lie

At a ceremony honoring veterans and senior citizens who sent presents to soldiers overseas, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut rose and spoke of an earlier time in his life or maybe someone else's life.

"We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam," Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. "And you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it — Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support."

There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam, he never stepped foot onto Vietnamese soil. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records. (I would like it to be noted, if you don't want to go to war, and you can legally get out of going, go for it, however if you don't have the stones to fight don't lie about years later, excuse me I'm sorry, don't misspeak about it later). Now back to the deferments they allowed Mr. Blumenthal to complete his studies at Harvard; pursue a graduate fellowship in England; serve as a special assistant to The Washington Post's publisher, Katharine Graham; and ultimately take a job in the Nixon White House. Mr. Blumenthal seems like a smart man, a man who would remember being under fire.

Mr. Blumenthal in his "apology" stated: "Now on a few occasions I have misspoken about my service, and I regret that, and I take full responsibility," Blumenthal said. (It's real easy to forget if you have been shot at or not) Now here is the kicker, in his closing remarks he said "But I will not allow anyone to take a few misplaced words and impugn my record of service to our country." This has not been a few misplaced words: In 2003, he addressed a rally in Bridgeport, where about 100 military families gathered to express support for American troops overseas. "When we returned, we saw nothing like this," Mr. Blumenthal said. "Let us do better by this generation of men and women."

The New Haven Register on July 20, 2006, described him as "a veteran of the Vietnam War," and on April 6, 2007, said that the attorney general had "served in the Marines in Vietnam." On May 26, 2009, The Connecticut Post, a Bridgeport newspaper that is the state's third-largest daily, described Mr. Blumenthal as "a Vietnam veteran." The Shelton Weekly reported on May 23, 2008, that Mr. Blumenthal "was met with applause when he spoke about his experience as a Marine sergeant in Vietnam."

And the idea that he served in Vietnam has become such an accepted part of his public biography that when a national outlet, Slate magazine, produced a profile of Mr. Blumenthal in 2000, it said he had "enlisted in the Marines rather than duck the Vietnam draft."

It does not appear that Mr. Blumenthal ever sought to correct those mistakes.

Where should Richard Blumenthal start apologizing?

Lets start with the 2,594,000 young Americans who actually did serve in Vietnam, rather than claiming, as Blumenthal did, that "I served in Vietnam''

Unquestionably to the 58,220 American war dead and the 1,741 American troops who disappeared in Vietnam and whose remains were never found.

And to the 153,303 Americans who were wounded in Vietnam, many of whom came home to struggle with disability and depression for the rest of their lives.

I'm Sorry Mr. Blumenthal. Being in a war is a searing experience; it is not something that is easily misspoken about. Combat veterans know when they've been under fire. People who don't go to combat know they missed that experience. You fought or you didn't, and the difference is not ever erased, even if 40 years have passed.

Why should I vote?

Why should I vote? In America, we are taught that it is your duty to vote, that it is an undeniable right, and that if you do not, then you are doing not only yourself, but also your country a disservice. But are we really? Yes most definitely, we are. Granted the two party system is relatively flawed, you do not have a highly diverse choice, what you have is Democrat or Republican. This nicely translates to a choice of Liberal, and somewhat
less Liberal. It denies the possibility that, Fascists, Classical Conservatives, Socialists, and Communists exist, and therefore limits not only their choice, but prevents them from being able to act on their beliefs. I know we have the Green party and the Libertarians but, come on, honestly, when has the last time any of these parties were a serious threat to an election. At the most all they have done, if anything is to take votes away from one causing the other to be elected. The name Ross Perot jumps to mind.

If you choose as a citizen not to vote, you are giving up one of your most significant rights, the right to create change. And not voting would be an abdication of your power that was granted to you by the Founding Fathers. We are taught throughout our life, that if you want to alter the influence government has on you then voting is an imperative. There are members of society who believe that voting itself is an action imposed by the government; the end goal being to influence you to vote as they desire.

By voting, what are you doing? You are expressing what you believe public policy ought to be, and whether or not you agree or disagree with the policies
and practices presently in place.

I agree with those who believe that the two party system, at times, offers little or no choice. And that the act of voting itself is just a desperate attempt to pick the lesser of two evils. Maybe someday we will have a conservative party or perhaps we will bring back the wigs I don't know, however, now is not that time, we must initiate these changes in far more stable government, one that is not on the brink of Socialism or bankruptcy or God forbid Obama care.

I was asked once, isn't not voting an act of expression in itself, and by not voting are you not showing your discontent with the system itself, and the fact that you've had enough of politicians telling you what to do? In a way, I suppose it is, however, you would be the only one who knows about your silent protest; this itself would make it have little to no effect on the system. Let's say that you could get the majority of voters to not show up at the poles, an election would still take place, a candidate would still get elected and that candidate would most definitely not represent you or your groups' core beliefs.

Voting shows that fundamentally you believe in our system of government. A system that was penned by a few brave men several hundred years ago when they shaped the constitution of the United States, these men were visionaries, they knew our country would grow, and prosper, and that a government for the people and by the people would not fail. Yes, this system of government has its flaws, all governments do, and that my fellow citizens is why we were guaranteed the right to vote so that these flaws can and will be corrected. The naysayers out there want you to believe that you have a limited voice and no power; this is simply not the true. Speak up America! Speak up in public, in private, and without doubt speak up in a voting booth, make your voice be heard.

How to interpret Arlen Specter's probable demise.

Honestly, I can't help but think that the news media as a whole are over analyzing the senate primary race between Sestak and Specter.  They're kicking around what Specter's win or loss might foretell for the November general election.  If he loses, does it mean there really is an anti incumbent sentiment out there Etc. (I hope so)?  I think they picked the wrong race to analyze. I think Mr. Specter time of service to his country has run its course,

I sit in front of the TV and just shake my head. It seems pretty apparent there are a few major reasons why Mr. Specter ought to lose tomorrow's primary. Firstly, he suddenly had a crisis of conscience and changed his party affiliation stating, "I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans," Mr. Specter said in his statement, acknowledging that his decision was certain to disappoint colleagues and supporters. Though the real reason was not a disparity in philosophy, it was to save a job his job "I'm not prepared to have my 29-year record in the United States Senate decided by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate, not prepared to have that record decided by that jury," Mr. Specter declared in a rather defiant and dismissive tone. Specter's move has sown resentment and feelings of betrayal among some of the. Republican friends and associates who were loyal to him at great cost to their own career Not least of them is Rick Santorum, the conservative former senator who recently said he supported the more liberal Specter in 2004 because Specter promised to back George W. Bush's court nominees. Specter has denied he ever made that commitment and he bristled at the press club lunch when asked if he and Santorum should take lie detector tests to settle the question. "My integrity, established over a long career, doesn't need a lie detector test to establish its veracity," he said stiffly. On the other hand Santorum said he would take the test.

He most certainly misjudged Obama mania, believing as I'm sure President Obama himself did that it would continue for years.  His abrupt change in parties looked spurious then, and nowadays one has to wonder just what he stands for.  As a Republican he leaned to the left of the isle and was more of an impediment to the party than asset, and in just slightly over 370 days as a Democrat he has helped to devastate and possibly bankrupt an entire country, and give us Obama care of which only 30% of the population wanted. Over the past year, Specter went from opposing to supporting a public option in the health care bill, from opposing to supporting some form of a bill making it easier for workers to form unions, from criticizing to supporting Dawn Johnsen's controversial nomination for a key Justice Department post (now a moot issue; she has withdrawn). He even sided with liberals on Afghanistan, opposing Obama's troop surge there. At the press club lunch here in Harrisburg, the moderator read a question that asked why Specter, if he is so worried about spending and deficits, voted for the banks bailout and Obama's $787 billion stimulus bill. Specter said Vice President Dick Cheney had come to the GOP Senate caucus and told his fellow Republicans that if they didn't support the bailout fund, they would turn George W. Bush into a modern Herbert Hoover.
So there, you go -- Cheney made me do it. As for the stimulus, Specter says it averted a 1929-style Depression and may have been the most important vote he ever cast in Congress, Right behind his vote against Reagan nominee Bork.

I don't think you can read too much anti-incumbency theory into Arlen Specter's probable loss in the primary election.  In point of fact, I'd kind of like to see him win, he'd be a much better bet to lose in November than his primary opponent, Joe Sestak.

Global Warming?

With the disturbing evidence of falsifying the facts and the destruction of evidence to the contrary; we the people must expose climate change for what it is: another attempt by the left to usurp more control of the population and make billions for their allies. Climate change, in fact, is the crown jewel of the radical left's global power coup d'état; more so than healthcare. By asserting that humans are, somehow, (while I freely admit we could be taking better care of our planet) altering the earth's atmosphere, their plan is to seize control of, basically, every aspect of life; all in the name of saving the planet. This is no new strategy. In the early 1970'sthere was an attempt to create the same type of calamity centered on the notion of global cooling "The Ice Age is coming". The data used to concoct this theory was gathered by some of the same scientists who are now driving the global warming hoax and this is not the first time they've been caught doctoring the evidence to fit their desired result. In 2007, Dr. James Hansen, Director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and one of the forces behind both the global warming and global cooling hoaxes was forced to revise his data to show that the 1930's was the hottest decade of the twentieth century rather than the 1990's as he had originally asserted. Still, despite repeated discoveries of bogus data and the hiding and obliteration of nonconforming data, the eco-fanatics continue to push forward with life altering policies and legislation. Conflicting theories, interpretations, and opinions are either ignored or ridiculed, even when offered by highly educated and skilled Scientists. In 2008, "The National Center for Public Policy Research" reported that "Dr. Arthur Robinson of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine announced that more than 31,000 scientists had signed a petition rejecting the theory of human-caused global warming."  The theory has, in fact, been rejected or questioned consistently by a number of scientists and, just as consistently, their opinions have been disregarded. The left has kicked this dead horse so consistently, for so long, that many, so called conservatives has given in and accepted it as fact. The message has been entrenched in our youth through constant reiteration in the education system. The result has been the piling on of more and more government regulations of industries such as: energy, auto makers, and chemical manufacturers. As a result of this overbearing government control, consumer prices of many products have skyrocketed, consumer safety has been compromised by mandates for lighter, more fuel efficient automobiles and the banning of disease controlling chemicals, America's dependence on foreign oil has increased, and millions of American jobs have been lost. These combined results have had a drastic effect on the national economy. Still, in light of all of this and despite being in the middle of one of the worst economic recessions in our history. The government is attempting to pass the "cap and trade" climate change bill, which, even proponents agree, will drastically raise energy prices for consumers and businesses, and impose much greater operating costs for many businesses and industries. The reason for this continued push, without further debate, is simple; they know that their window of opportunity to pass the bill is closing quickly and further debate and investigation will only hurt the cause. There will never be a better opportunity than now for the people to stop this shell game from going any further and begin reversing the previous damage. I urge everyone to contact their elected officials and demand an investigation into this deception. We should also be contacting the media to persuade them to investigate and report this issue objectively. We can get their attention by going through their meal ticket; the advertisers yes I'm asking for a boycott of their advertisers and supporters. We must seize this opportunity now, before they manage to push it to the back burner and move on. Of all the devastating policies these extremists are attempting to jam down our throats, this is the most damaging and corrupt. The ball has been placed firmly in our court we must not fail for the sake of our children and the future of our beloved country.

Eight days better late than never

Every aspiring media writer and blogger out there has given their opinion on the Louisiana oil platform explosion and subsequent leak, so I may as well throw my 2 cents in. Our President (The Anointed One) hasn't a clue on how to handle this emergency. Instead of calling for equipment and the experts to use said equipment, He's calling up droves of government attorneys. He's got department heads and special assistants flying about and no, not one of them knows a damned thing about an oil well, oil well fires and most particularly a deep water well. This administration's idea of a response team is like something out of a Mr. Bean Sketch.
So while Rome stands burning, Caesar was out criticizing a sovereign State's Governor for signing a bill protecting the very people that Obama and the Federal Government (yes this includes Republicans and Democrats alike) failed to protect for the last twenty or so years. Obama displayed his true colors on this one. The lame stream press has been in full cover up mode…well the part that wasn't combing the beaches looking for oiled birds that is.

So what does the leader of a country which is in(according to the Obama administration) the biggest economic crisis in modern time do, he decided to cease operation on every US owned or leased well in the gulf this is juvenile knee jerk of reaction at best and complete absurdity at worst. Something else to heap on the shoulders of the American people – rising gas prices due to Obama's shutdown of the 3,800 oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico that's just what the Dr. ordered. I was listening to talk radio the other day and I heard Mark Levin call Obama incompetent. And yes, Mark, he is… or gives every warning of being so.

I've stated before I'm not a conspiracy theorist… I don't do it as a rule, but there is this nagging thought flashing thru my undisciplined mind – the timing on this whole oil well explosion is just too attractive. Now, I'm not suggesting any monkey business. In fact, I listened carefully to Mr. Levin's interview with a journeyman oil rig worker who was on platform when it happened. He explained that it had all the appearance of a gas 'bubble' release. A very large release of gas blown back up through the derrick because the odorless, colorless gas is heavier than air it will settle on the deck, the interior and low spots, At that point anything could have served as an ignition source, even static electricity.

Barack Obama is eight days late getting on top of this. If this happened to a Republican administration, (I'll say it if this happened to George W Bush) there would be a media blast furnace from the left that would go on for months. It may prove to be faintly amusing watching Obama's hordes of lawyers stop that well leak. I just hope it doesn't get any more tragic than it already has, but with enough of Obama's goofballs running around they could screw up the works quickly for the pros that have to get it done.
